Often deemed as one of the less "handy" yet more "innovative" modifications to the exceedingly rugged StGew 55' frame/series of rifles. First suggested by Hans Vollmer from the DiG's dedicated small-arms facility. At first viewed as a "Misbegotten lovechild between a carbine and a service rifle", the F-Kar 55' soon garnered enormous popularity from the Fallschirmjäger platoons brought in to test it. All the benefits of the full-length rifle, just shortened and made semi-compact. Which, for all-rights and purposes, suited the needs of the Fallschirmjäger Korp rather perfectly.
